About obqo

obqo is a product of Van Moose, based in Amsterdam.

We build software for European higher education — focused on coaching, student guidance, alumni engagement and career placement support.

obqo is developed in partnership with the University of Amsterdam and is used by career-services teams that want to standardise their processes and evidence their impact.

All data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).

obqo is designed to complement, not replace, the student information systems institutions already use — such as Osiris, Brightspace or SAP. It does not require migration of existing student data and does not connect to or read from these systems. Coaches work with the data they need for coaching purposes; the source of truth for enrolment, grades and administrative records remains the institution's own SIS.

Van Moose acts as a processor (verwerker) under GDPR Article 28 for every institution that uses obqo. The institution itself is the controller (verwerkingsverantwoordelijke): it decides the purposes and means of the processing, holds the lawful basis, and informs data subjects.

Van Moose processes personal data only on the controller's written instructions, recorded in the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and this platform's technical and organisational measures (see obqo.co/security). We do not use customer data for our own purposes, do not sell it, and do not use it for AI-model training, profiling or marketing to third parties.

Subject-access requests (insight, correction, deletion, portability, objection) are handled by the controller. For UvA-affiliated alumni the contact point is alumni-abs@uva.nl. For all other questions about obqo as a processor: info@obqo.co.
